1)
Where is Cádiz and how can I get there? |
|
|
Cádiz
is situated at the "Costa de la Luz" in the south of Andalusia close to
Jerez de la Frontera, Sevilla and Málaga. The closest airports to Cádiz
are Jerez de la Frontera, Sevilla and Málaga, respectively. There are cheap
flights from England to Gibraltar, which may be a convenient option. The
timetables of public transport facilities, that conect Cádiz with the airports,
are available here. |
|
2)
For what is the city famous for and how many inhabitants does it has? |
|
|
Cádiz
is a small quiet city with about 140.000 inhabitants. Our city is 3.100
years old city which offers all the advantages of a big city (cultural life,
cinemas, theatres, shops, bars, discos, restaurants, etc), without the usual
disadvantages ( traffic jams, high crime rates, overcrowding, etc). In Cádiz
there are not many tourists, so you can enjoy your stay in an authentic
Spanish city. Moreover Cádiz has a very pleasant climate and the sun is
guaranteed all year round. |
|
3)
Do the local people speak very fast? Will I be taught to speak Spanish with
an Andalusian accent? |
|
|
In
Cádiz the people speak a soft variation of the "andaluz" accent, similar
to the form which is spoken in Sevilla or Málaga. Further it is very close
to the Spanish, which is spoken by more than 350 million people in South-America
and the United States. If you learn Spanish in Cádiz you will not only talk
to Spanish people without problem, but you will also be able to understand
the majority of people in South-America who speak Spanish. Of course, all
the lessons are taught in "Standard Spanish", so you will never learn Spanish
whit an accent. |
