2012 is a very special year for the city of Cadiz, because it is the bicentenary of the First Spanish Constitution, the Cadiz Constitution of 1812, known as "La Pepa" .
On March 19, 1812, Spain's first constitution, guaranteeing certain rights and liberties along with powers of self government, was signed in Cádiz.
In 2012, Cádiz will also be the Iberoamerican Capital of Culture and will host the XXII Latin American Summit Heads of State and Government.
2012 will be a year to celebrate freedom and partnership between all Spanish, European and Iberoamerican cities and of course, to visit cádiz and learn Spanish in Cádiz.
Also in 2012 will be held in our city, the "III International Meeting of Teachers of Spanish " organized by FEDELE, the Instituto Cervantes and Turespaña.
GADIR will take part in the organization of the Meeting and will be very glad to welcome all the teachers in Cádiz.
